Normal Maps
The models shown here are actual game models, not high poly objects, rendered with only their normal maps in 3DS Max. The normal maps were created with a combination of techniques, including high poly modeling in ZBrush, Mudbox, and 3DS Max itself, as well as layers created in Photoshop using the Nvidia normal map tool, on altered diffuse textures and hand-painted displacement maps. Some of these can be seen elsewhere on the site in their final state.
